Shortlisted for Blackmore Vale Business Awards

Local, superfast Internet provider Wessex Internet are delighted to have been shortlisted for three awards at this year’s Blackmore Vale Business Awards; Best Consumer Customer Service, Best Online Engagement and The Green Award.
The Blackmore Vale Business Awards rightly puts the counties’ businesses in the limelight. Every year they discover and celebrate new talent, and share the success of established firms and business people. We all know that Dorset, Somerset and Wiltshire is a very special place and a great place to do business – these awards are great way to shout about it.
Commercialised in September 2012, Wessex Internet is a service provided as a partnership between M12 Solutions Ltd, a well-established telecoms and connectivity provider founded in 2003, and the Ranston Estate, established in 1781, that provides and manages the core infrastructure and network. They entered The BVM Business Awards in 2013 as an exciting new entrant, promising a vision of vastly improved internet connectivity for our district and had massive success winning all three categories entered, including Business Innovation, Best Start up Business and Business of the Year.
For rural areas of The Blackmore Vale and further into Somerset and Wiltshire, Wessex Internet now serving over 120 village communities, almost 2000 customers with all the family members in those households, as well as the workers in businesses and pupils and staff in the schools they serve, the impact to the area has been truly enormous. They hope this year to show the judges how they have developed as a business and what impact their superfast service has had on the community and the environment.
The finalists will undergo more in-depth scrutiny when they are visited by the judges and questioned closely about how they fulfil the judging criteria. The winners will be announced at the George Albert Hotel on Thursday 21st September.
