Call features

With your new Wessex Telephone service there are a number of features that you may find useful. Here's a handy list and how to use them:

  • How do I access my last caller ID?

    To retrieve the details of the last person who called you, simply dial 1471 from your Wessex Telephone handset. To return the call at your chosen call plan rate, press 1.

  • How do I withhold my number?

    Dial 141 in front of the number you wish to call to withhold your outgoing number.

    For example: 141 0333 240 7997 will dial the Wessex Internet number but will display as caller unknown.

  • How do I block a number?

    Dial *30 to block a number or if you'd like to block the last caller please dial *32. To remove a number from the blocked list, dial *31.

  • How do I set up my voicemail?

    Simply dial 1571 from your handset, you will need to set up your voicemail when you first install your Wessex Telephone service.

  • How do I listen to my voicemail?

    To listen via your handset, dial 1571 and follow the instructions. You will also receive voicemails to your specified email address. Voicemails are also stored on the system for 30 days.

  • How do I activate the call waiting feature?

    To activate the call waiting feature, which plays a tone to your handset when another caller is ringing, dial *43 from your handset. To turn the feature off, please dial #43#

  • How do I forward my calls?

    If you wish to forward your calls from your Wessex Telephone service, there are several options available:

    Call Forwarding Unconditional

    This will forward ALL incoming calls to another number, all the time the feature is switched on. Simply dial 21 then when prompted, enter the number you wish to forward to. To turn the feature off, dial #21# For example: *21 07700900XXX. To turn the feature off, dial #21#

    Call Forwarding Not Available

    This will forward calls to another number if you don’t answer within 15 seconds. Simply dial 61 then when prompted, enter the number you wish to forward to. To turn the feature off, dial #61# For example: *61 07700900XXX. To turn the feature off, dial #61#

    Call Forwarding When Busy

    This will forward calls to another number, when your Wessex Telephone is engaged. Simply dial 81 then when prompted, enter the number you wish to forward to. To turn the feature off, dial #81# For example: 81 07700900XXX. To turn the feature off, dial #81#

    *If you enable call forwarding, you will be charged for all forwarded calls at your chosen call plan rate
