by Wessex Internet Team
Wessex Internet, the area’s only rural superfast Internet provider have expanded its wireless coverage to parts of Sixpenny Handley (6dH). The expansion means that a large number of 6dH residents & businesses can now make benefit of a superfast (30 Mb/s) Internet connection.
Customers will have a small receiver fitted to the outside of their property that points to a nearby wireless base station at Pentridge to take advantage of the superfast service. An Internal Wi-Fi router is provided, and an optional telephone line adapter can be connected to this for customers who wish to migrate from BT to a lower cost Internet phone line.
Wessex Internet’s services are perfect for streaming HD TV & movies, using Skype, working from home effectively and using business-applications efficiently, all without the inconsistency and slowdowns associated with the traditional copper-line broadband available in 6dH.
It is anticipated that the coverage in 6dH will expand as residents & businesses register their interest (no contract obligation), and talks are underway to make use of the Church Tower as a discrete wireless Network Booster station to maximise the coverage.
Superfast Internet services start from £25 per month for 30 Mb/s; £5 per month extra for a telephone line, and there’s a short 6 month minimum contract term.
