Local Superfast Internet provider, Wessex Internet have recently installed their 1500th customer. Andrew Skipsey and Hector Gibson Fleming congratulated Jamie Campbell with a bottle of champagne at his business, Campbell Jackson Architects. Campbell Jackson is an award winning architectural practice based in Dorset, with a long experience of projects in both town and country. They have built and have consulted on projects in Europe and north America as well as the UK.

Jamie says ”I tried satellite which proved to be unworkable for some websites I use including banking. Apart from the fantastic speeds which we now have, I have been very impressed with the speed at which our connection arrived in the village serving both the Architects practice and our famous bakery.”

18km fibre has been laid recently to connect properties including villagers of Long Crichel, allowing Jamie to be on Wessex Internet’s Fibre Home Worker package, which includes an incredible download speed of 100Mb/s and 50Mb/s upload. Wessex Internet’s residential packages start at just £25 per month with superfast speeds of up to 30Mb/s.

Co-founder James Gibson Fleming says ‘the Long Crichel scheme is a great example of how, with the support of landowners and end users, we can in quick time make a remote rural hamlet and broadband desert into one of the fastest places on earth.’

Long Crichel along with other businesses and residents in Dorset and Wiltshire, with broadband connections of less than 2Mb/s, are eligible for a subsidy of £300 towards their connection. Find out if you can get a broadband voucher by clicking here.
