Alice Evans

Roll Out Funding Manager

Originally joining Wessex Internet in 2017 as a Sales & Servicing Advisor, Alice has since worked her way through the ranks. Progressing to Fibre Sales, Fibre Sales Team Leader, then Community Projects Manager and now Roll Out Funding Manager.

Alice is kept busy liaising with BDUK on Project Gigabit procurements and voucher projects, as well as providing them feedback on upcoming procurements and feeding all of this into the Wessex Internet roll out strategy.

Stefan Shivachev

Senior IP Network Engineer

Stefan has been part of the Wessex Internet Tech team since October 2018. He initially started as 2nd Line Tech Support, but with a determination to better himself and develop new skills, Stefan was promoted to Senior IP Network Engineer in 2022.

A typical day for Stefan includes managing the network and maximising network performance through ongoing monitoring and troubleshooting. Part of his role is to investigate faults in the network as well as support field engineers with complex tasks.

Charlie Omerod

Rural Build Manager

Wessex Internet prides itself on quickly recognising talent and Charlie is a clear example. Thanks to his positive attitude, forward thinking and people skills, he has gone from joining in June 2020 as a Civils Operative, progressing to Team Leader, then Project Foreman and now Rural Build Manager.

Charlotte Absolom

Marketing Manager

Initially joining Wessex Internet as a Marketing Executive, Charlotte has since progressed to Senior Marketing Executive and is now Marketing Manager.

Every working day is different for Charlotte, she is kept busy working on all things marketing from mail drops, organising adverts in local publications to collaborating with the Community Engagement Team, and overseeing all sponsorships and events.

“There is a lot I like about working at Wessex Internet – from the people to the surroundings, the brilliant benefits and of course the work I do. I have been very lucky to progress my marketing career within the company and I’m thankful for that opportunity.”

Darren Staley-Ellis

Senior IP Network Engineer

Darren joined Wessex Internet back in August 2022 initially as a Fibre Installation Engineer. He then progressed to Network Operations Engineer and has most recently been promoted to Senior IP Network Engineer.

Darren is kept busy with a variety of duties within the business, from managing the network to provisioning new equipment or adjusting existing configurations to suit the needs of customers.

Garden Works Deputy Manager

Back in October 2021, Marc joined Wessex Internet initially as a Garden Works Operative, he soon progressed to Team Leader and now is the Garden Works Deputy Manager.

Thanks to hard work, commitment and support from management, Marc has been able to embark on the next step within his career.

Ben Heath

Community Engagement Manager

Starting his Wessex Internet career as a Customer Support Advisor back in March 2023, within months Ben was promoted to Community Engagement Manager.

From residents’ meetings to coffee mornings, pub drop-ins to collaborations with local schools, Ben is kept busy liaising with community champions and spreading the word to communities about our ultrafast full fibre.
